Clasping each other … perhaps in a praying position?
Looking forward to show it in the upcoming exhibition at Gallery Artsight, opening the 10’th of October.
It will also be the first time the monkey in Indian granite meets people outside my studio! ❤️

I hope my eyes will become as beautiful as Banda’s I hope my eyes will become as beautiful as Banda’s if I will reach his age, 89! 🥳
He is from Malawi, used to go to our father, Vidal Wilson’s discoteque Shaft.
Banda came to Stockholm to study agriculture cooperative in 1965 at Sånga Säby Agricultural School.
After one year of studies in Sweden he went back to Malawi, got a job in Agriculture but he did not get a house from the government.
The other students who had left with him got both a job by the and a house. But they had relatives in the government. Banda lived with his parents and got up at 04.00 in the morning to walk 10 miles to work.
He asked the department for a bicycle but they would not give it to him. After that he wrote them a letter saying he wanted to leave, they granted him that with no questions.
Friends he had met in Sweden wrote to him wanting to come and visit, in the beginning he told them all was fine, but after a while he said the truth, that he didn’t have a job. Then a female friend sent him a letter to go back to Sweden. She also found him a job in a laundry service.
Banda says that it is common that talented student go to Europe to study, medicine for example, but when they go back they are given a job in another field, a lower one. Because of that many of them go back to Europe to work with what they were trained.
He says people who fought for independence are forgotten. It’s a big mixup now between nepotism, tribalism, ministers and their families and favours. Ministers that favours friends and family..
We have agreed that one day we will meet again and I will make a video with him where he tells his story. 💕

You are the best!
There are not words enough to describe your greatness as a person!
You have done so much for so many sculptors during the 30 years you have managed your Global Stone Workshop! It’s a delight participating! ❤️

Elephant bowl in Spanish Alabaster with crust. I d Elephant bowl in Spanish Alabaster with crust.
I did bowls and table tops with a human profile and two with elephant profiles in different types of marble and onyx many years ago when I lived in Italy.
Now I am revisiting the practice of doing ”useful” and ”practical” works in my way.
I becomes a meeting between sculpture and artisan/interior/design.
Totally new are the lamp shades! I am enjoying this a lot! Totally love intense working periods in warm weather! ❤️
